The table reproduces the role-and-level combinations in Adobe's Commerce Certification Overview, last updated by Adobe on May 19, 2026. It is a catalog map, not a ranking of people, employers, or delivery companies.

Vocabulary rule: copy the full current title from the holder's Adobe page. Do not shorten Front-end Developer to Developer, convert Expert to Architect, or translate an old Magento title into a current Adobe credential.
What each job family should trigger in buyer diligence
Business Practitioner
Useful signal for: business requirements, platform functionality, merchandising, operations, and stakeholder translation.
Still verify: the proposed person's responsibility, discovery output, relevant edition, B2B workflows, and case evidence. The credential does not prove coding or architecture authority.
Developer
Useful signal for: technical implementation and customization in the job family named by Adobe.
Still verify: backend scope, modules, APIs, ERP or PIM integration, testing, code review, secure development, and recent practical work. The title does not state front-end or architect coverage.
Front-end Developer
Useful signal for: Adobe Commerce storefront and user-interface work in the front-end job family.
Still verify: theme stack, accessibility, JavaScript, performance, checkout experience, Hyvä or other project-specific technology, and collaboration with backend engineers.
Useful signal for: an Adobe Commerce architecture job family. Still verify: integration boundaries, deployment model, security decisions, non-functional requirements, architecture records, decision authority, and recent route-matched programs.
A Master Architect credential does not make every project decision correct. The buyer still owns governance and should review proposed decisions.
Level labels are not staffing grades
Never score a candidate by level alone. A route may need an Expert Developer with deep integration practice, a Front-end Developer with the right storefront stack, a Business Practitioner who can map complex operations, or an Architect for cross-system decisions. The brief determines the fit.
Certification, qualified credential, accreditation, and course completion are different records
